If you’re looking to try Kratom, or just starting out, you may be curious about what dose you should take, and how long does Kratom last? Keep reading to learn more.
What is Kratom?

First off, what is Kratom? Kratom is an evergreen tree in the coffee family native to Southeast Asia. This plant has been in use for centuries in traditional medicine practices, and has been used by workers as a persistent pain relief solution. The leaves of this tree are grown to a specific maturity, picked by workers, dried, and ground into a fine powder. This powder can be taken straight, or packed into capsules for easy dosing.
Uses for Kratom
Before we get into how long does Kratom last, let’s touch on what Kratom is used for. As mentioned above, Kratom has been in use for a long time to aid in pain relief. However, there are many more uses for Kratom, as well. The biggest reason we see customers using Kratom is pain relief. Another important use for Kratom is help with recovering from opiate withdrawal. Kratom mimics opiates effects in the brain, without being an opiate itself. These are the properties that make Kratom useful for pain management, and also for kicking an opioid habit.
While pain relief and opiate withdrawal relief are the top two uses for Kratom that we see, there are a myriad of things our customers say Kratom helps them with. From a coffee replacement for energy in the mornings, to a nighttime supplement to help fight insomnia, to a calming aid in easing social anxiety, Kratom helps our customers get through their day smoothly.
What is a Kratom Dose?
Kratom doses vary from person to person, strain to strain, and by the desired effect. For example, small doses of red vein Kratom can help you with pain management throughout your day, but a larger dose of that red vein could make you sleepy, and might best be saved for before bed time. How Long does Kratom Last?
Like with the dose of Kratom above, how long Kratom lasts in the body is dose dependent. Further, Kratom isn’t a prescription drug with specific doses and timing (for example, dangerous opiates). For this reason, we always urge our customers to start with smaller doses of Kratom, and to keep notes about Kratom’s effects on you body. Take a small dose of Kratom and record how long its effects are and its potency. From there, you will be able to figure out for you, personally, how long does Kratom last. In general, though, a dose of Kratom lasts a few hours.
As for how long Kratom stays present in your body, there is not quite enough research out there to pin point that. However, some sources have pointed to Kratom taking about 5-6 days to be completely out of your system. If you’re worried about drug testing for Kratom, don’t fret! Kratom generally does not show up on any normal drug tests.
Conclusion
We wish we could give you a concrete answer to how long does Kratom last. However, like with most natural and herbal products, it really varies person to person. How long Kratom lasts will depend on how much you take, the severity of your symptoms, and just your personal body chemistry and how you react to Kratom. Our advice: start small, keep notes, and go from there!
